You made my day! I believe that God has his own timetable. It's not for us to question his plans and yet we do when we get anxious and scared. Preparing for the worst and praying for the best as we enjoy and appreciate our loved ones and appreciating a glorious night sky which many take for granted is maybe part of God's plan to return his stray flock to the fold.
RT - it wasn't until my personal Bible study changed from religiosity to seeking REALITY - after decades no less - that the insights from reading it became almost overwhelming. Our current worldwide travails and their solutions are all there as plain as day - when we remove our presumptuous presuppositions of Bible study.
Are you or I deluded?
The most deluded people you will ever know are those who have decided at some point in their lives that they now know DaTruth......which applies to anything or everything......government, religion, politics, culture......whatever. And that 'whatever' then becomes our 'standard' to measure everything else......in effect, it becomes our 'god'. That is NOT REALITY - it is delusional!
Yet, the Bible instructs us in various ways......Prove all things.......Examine yourselves......We all see through the glass DARKLY.....You cannot become a mature adult by only drinking milk of repeated rituals like a baby.......But solid food is for the mature, who because of PRACTICE have their senses trained to discern good and evil."
I'm not talking about religiosity........I'm talking about REALITY.......in EVERYTHING!
Discovering truth is a PROCESS for us mortals......not an end state - PERIOD!
You got me when you quoted that passage in Habbakkuk, one of my favorite books. It reminds me of the leader’s response to Stephan’s defense in Acts chapter 7, “Now when they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth at him.” Amazing, but the predictable response of wickedness. And short Psalm 11 is King David’s incredible statement written in stone about wickedness that includes: “ if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
It is quite unusual and encouraging to see God referenced in so many comments and in the article.
I hope my humble post finds a receptive audience where a seed is planted, and a crop is produced.
We are to know the whole word of God. I looked for the scripture reference but cannot find it.
Was sure it was in there but some things we just know that just ain't so. A loose Reagan quote.
But we must know the whole word of God to understand it in context and apply it properly.
Not just bits and pieces. Also to recognize error.
We are not to treat Gods Word / Law as a puzzle scattered on the table and pick out the pieces that make us feel good.
God, through Psalm 19:7 tells us:
"The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple." Please read it all.
Deuteronomy 28 tells us that if we will hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord we will be blessed above all nations of the earth.
Also in Deuteronomy 28, we are told wat will happen if we choose not to hearken.
It is clear that initially we were blessed on this contentment and now we are being overcome with the curses. Why, we do not, as a Country, embrace the Word of God in our law.
Again, please read it all.
Encouraged to see the book of Habakkuk referenced.
When I read Habakkuk, I see Christians.
Habakkuk pleads to the Lord for the destruction of the wicked and is told judgment is coming from a people He is making powerful for that very purpose, the people are described, as are their actions.
Habakkuk is told these people will be judged in turn. Habakkuk, in the end waits in faith for God's deliverance.
The church, little "c" is indeed being judged. Won't know till it's over, but I see the US Government as the modern Chaldeans, at least on the local level.
The key is for true Christians to stay the course in faith. We are to be as Ezekiel, a watchman warning the people.
We may or not live through what is to come but that is not always a bad thing for we are God's.
Isaiah 57:1
"The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come."
I have studied in the prophets very heavily since I noticed the patterns developing in 2019.
They were developing long ago but I took special note and focused on the prophets.
I had been listening to pastors on sermonaudio.com for a number of years and found quite a few really good ones.
Check out these - search by topic.
How God Destroys Nations
Where we are and how we got here
Biblical law and immigration
Who is Israel?
The Blessings of the Law
The Promises of the Law
Imprecatory Prayer
The Lesser Magistrate Doctrine - also go to defytyrants.com and get some books.
Also search "Matthew Trewhella" in the speakers to find ore sermons on how Christians are to consider civil government.
Go to missiontoisrael.org and learn how we do not have a Christian Government.
On that note search for sermons on the Pledge. Should Christians pledge their allegiance to secular government? After a bit of study make a decision.
God will lead you in your study and remember, you will get out of it what you put into it so keep a notebook and record the scripture given and notes so you can return to that scripture.
Psalm 118
8 "It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man."
9 "It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes."
Your essays are wonderful. They are lyrical, they are True, and they stick with me. Thank you!

I believe you, like me, are in the body of Christ. It's not a religion or a building.
It is life in the person of the Son of God who redeemed us from the corruption of sin.
Dr. Phil would work as well, his program being a lot like Jerry Springer without the fights.
Great reminder. Thank you for writing.

This post is a treasure of beauty and truth.
Amen, sister. Praise God for His fingerprints all around us!
