I viewed a clip recently from one of the *Borat* movies in which the lead character, played by Israeli citizen Sacha Baron Cohen, gives a town hall speech about the economic benefits that would accompany the establishment of a mosque in their small Arizona community. The townsfolk happen to like the character of their neighborhoods as is, unsurprisingly, and take exception to Borat's proposal.

The message is clear. White small-town Christians are racist, Nazi, and xenophobic. They cling to their guns and religion. Cohen intends to uplift and democratize them.

Effective satire is subtle, but Cohen's is Big Lie-infused. He hits you over the head with it and fancies himself clever. Meanwhile, nobody mentions the elephant in the room. How many mosques will we find in Borat's neck of Eretz Israel?

There were plenty there--and churches, too--before 1948. Quite a few before 1967, too. What happened to them? Did Mohammedan and Christian Palestinians up and go of their own volition? Did the Israelis not derive any economic benefits from *their* mosques and churches?

Leftists revel in double standards. They're better than everybody else and they know it. As a matter of fact, yes: Europeans and Christians are bigots if they resist mass migration. It's different when all the other peoples of the world protect their borders. That's called self-preservation.

I see these virtue signaling signs in our neighborhood. They make me laugh. The town bridge was lit up in blue and yellow, but when the town Jews wanted to light it up in blue and white, the City Council said, "No." I guess there are limits on this crap.

Wrong side of the narrative. A "Free Palistine" banner on the bridge however ...

Kertch: The local Jews, who are very rich and built the hotels, did have a rally on the town plaza. They even took out a full page ad in support of Israel in the local paper. This was a few days after the Oct. 7th attacks. Once the Israelis started the genocide in Gaza, the Jews went quiet as a church mouse.

The only redeeming feature of the Left is that they’re selfish and self absorbed. They’ll give lip service to all types of whacky ideas but will eventually run out of steam. Unfortunately they will fund zealots who will do much damage in the interim. Pax

Hypocrisy is one thing, but if they don't live in a gated community, does it make it okay to allow hoards of people into the US? There's something a bit creepy about people feeling safe within gated communities. All those rules, CCR's, HOA fees and lawn Nazis running around inspecting and doling out penalties for violations looks a bit too much like what the US is becoming; nothing more than a glorified gated community with a lot of holes in the fencing. Targets for thieves.

People living in gated communities aren't likely to be proponents of freedom or liberty. They can't handle people making their own decisions on how to live their own lives. Run down to Mexico, any one of those central American or Asian countries and note how many times you see people engaging in activities that are illegal in the US.

It isn't unusual to see a family of four riding around on one motorcycle, or children under 10 years of age driving a car, sometimes full of other kids. My neighbors routinely blow through a few hundred dollars of ammunition in an afternoon. In addition to target practice, they always end up cutting down a few trees as well.

Just to be clear (since some may have misunderstood me) I do not live in a gated community. It's an intown neighborhood that has many homes with driveway gates--not all homes, but many. The neighborhood itself is not gated and has public streets. City of Atlanta neighborhoods are, by and large, not gated. Not that it matters--but just wanted to give some context.

I wasn't assuming you lived in a gated community. While I can see why some may not want people to think they live in a gated community, there is something to be said for "good fences make good neighbors." That saying originally referred to neighbors maintaining their stone boundaries together. If I thought for one second that you lived within the confines of a gated community, my original reply would have been quite a bit more abrasive.

On some level, I suppose those who have no problem with strangers traversing their property on foot, four wheelers, dirt bikes, etc. can openly condone this behavior when it comes to the nation's borders as well. I don't think they should be asked to fork out a penny for a wall across the southern border either.

When those coming from down south have no incentive to hike north into the US, this nonsense will fix itself. I don't see anyone in the government who is likely to do a damn thing about preventing any of the close to 250 NGO's from forking out the money to facilitate this massive migration into the US.

"Hate has no home here." ..... But they can fully justify their righteous hate of anyone who disagrees with their opinions, you know, those far-right wingers. That's right, those Nazis.

Exactly- when I see one of those signs I know a “hater” lives within - they put them up to relieve their guilt.

Thank you for exposing the soul- destroying hypocrisy of the liberal-left. But there is another factor at play here which I observed with some of my research colleagues. The corrupt system created to enslave and plunder us favours those who show loyalty to this system. And since this loyalty is rewarded with better jobs, promotions and even research grants, there is a huge financial incentive for those who promote what is an alien and subversive culture that violates the laws of nature and God. This is how the wealth created by honest workers and stolen by a parasitic system has been deployed to destroy western civilization. Those gated communities will only keep out the invaders in the short term. As stated by Ayn Rand, you can ignore reality but you can’t ignore the consequences of ignoring reality.

I've read about the research grant corruption. It's disheartening to see how everything from "The Swamp" to our local government is entangled in corruption at the expense of the very people they pretend to "serve."

I know world-class scientists in the field climate research who had their research funding cut because they published papers refuting the Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) "theory" which postulated that carbon dioxide played a major role in global warming. They were also personally smeared and called "climate deniers" which is stupid and absurd. I was also affected because although research on modern climates was not my primary area of expertise, I had done a fair amount research on the evolution of oceans and atmospheres through geologic time and had come to the conclusion that the AGW "theory" was a fraud. And being someone who felt it was my duty to speak the truth as I saw it based on the data and research available, I was targeted to the point where travel to conferences to present my research was denied and a research chair position was withdrawn after I won the competition. Grant cuts, travel denied, promotions denied, new positions revoked and papers rejected for publication are just some of the ways scientists questioning the main stream narratives are attacked.

Yes, it seems climate research and of course Covid research are both hampered by the ideological cult! Thank you for sharing. I think more Americans need to be aware of just how much good research in science and medicine is denied, censored, and disincentivized thanks to the left's institutional capture.

It may seem strange but Climate Change and the COVID Pandemic are connected to the same powerful entities who control much of the western world. So when COVID appeared in 2020, I had already been through all aspects of the AGW fraud and saw a lot of the same tactics being used by governments and the mass media to smear and denigrate world class scientists and doctors while promoting an agenda. I immediately dug into the research and after spending hundreds of hours researching the subject came to the conclusion that the so-called COVID pandemic was not a pandemic at all, the protocols being advocated were the opposite of what was consider best practices if there was a pandemic, the PCR test could not be used to diagnose any infectious disease, and the COVID shots comprised a new technology that was untested and turned out to be lethal mRNA shots that have killed an estimated 17 million people worldwide as of September 2023.

I was a deplorable decades before Hitlery gave us recognition. I don't have any signs in my yard but I fly a flag with 13 stars on the 4th of July. I wonder why so many people embrace the propaganda so readily. I think you are right that it is a religion. This will all end badly.
