Our salon visits during COVID lockdown came to a complete halt and put many more of these small businesses on life support than the numbers show actual sufferers of COVID. It’s no one’s and particularly not the government’s responsibility to dictate to me how I should spend my time and money! I guess I’m still steamed
It is interesting that in dream interpretation, hair is a symbol of thought. This is why there was such a ruckus about the long hair of the male youth of the sixties--thoughts of the youth were not being controlled, and were overflowing the boundaries. So what does it mean when hair is cut, colored, frizzed, curled, etc.? I would say that it is not natural, and forced. It is not the natural hair (and thought) growth of sixties culture. It is more like strict control, both on the Right and the Left. I actually long for the days of Donovan, and the hurdy-gurdy man. There was a lot more freedom then.
Robert, this was written by the same Restoring Truth that writes on matters of faith, culture, etc. If you look back over my writings, a few are of this genre--my observations, mixed with some reflection. While it is always my greatest aim to point to gospel truth, I am also intrigued by people, remarks, and interactions that give glimpses into human nature in a fallen world--and sometimes, I find humor in it. I do not include bylines, as all essays are written by the same person, Restoring Truth.
The heaviness of Hell's whispers...indeed! I too have been in these salons and I would listen but I would disconnect. Move on, nothing to see here. You have your hair done, vanity intact and when you leave, you leave that world behind. I could relate to this, Thanks again for an interesting article.
Appreciated this reflection on the incongruities of the world we live in and the grace held out despite it. I chuckled a bit in recognition of the “salon experience” even if half a continent away. Thank you for putting a smile on my face this morning.

Fake blondes have fake fun.

This one is not what I have learned to expect from Restoring truth. Has it changed to new owners?? 😵💫
Why no by line indicating who wrote it? The writhing is good and told with humor and I would read more if I knew who wrote it.

Thank you, Rose. I think you summarized the experience well!
The writhing is good? LOL. Must have missed the first edition of this post.
Dawn, I appreciate your thoughtful feedback. Even though my writing has failed to impress you, I hope the light will "dawn" in your heart today.
RT, I took liberty with his misspelling of "writhing", when he meant "writing." LOL
I love your excellent posts!
Ha! I didn't even catch that! I need glasses.
