My 34 yr old mountain bike is still with me as I journey in a class C motorhome after my ex went off the deep end during covid. I always travel toward mountain trails where my spirit is refreshed to take on the challenges that will come next.

I have a friend who lives off of her mountain bike, having a sleeping bag to sleep, wherever. Sometimes she pitches a small tent, sometimes not. I prefer living in a van, sometimes down by a river...

Funny you should mention that. A few weeks ago, I traveled to Delray Beach, and when I ran along a very quiet section of the.lovely oceanfront path, a homeless woman--not a commonplace thing in that stretch-- was sleeping on a wall near her mountain bike, which was piled with her belongings. I assumed she was an outdoorsy and harmless homeless woman, and I jogged on by. On my return trip, she flew into a rage as I ran by, shouting and stomping angrily towards me. It's funny to imagine it now, but at the time, I was not amused.
