That was a fun story. Thank you. Look how much your life was enriched by not judging a book by its cover. Owing to mainstream media propaganda, I used to think that all motorcycle riders were hoodlums. Then I met my late husband and found that most of them were fat, bald, diabetic, retired accountants. And very nice people to the very last one, very generous and kind. Way fun to be around. I miss my motorcycle riding days with him.

Yes, many of them are just good guys having some good fun, often in retirement. A few (including the big four motorcycle "clubs"/gangs) are real criminal enterprises as well.

Rough, but authentic. I also have working-class roots, and I still get along with that type, the type that has lived life, and not just read books about it. I have a French "biker-bible," but there are also German and other language editions for bikers of Europe. Probably one for Americans, also.

My wife and I went to a restaurant we frequent to find it surrounded by motorcycles and scores of partying bikers. We went in and were seated. Long story short. We were not supposed to be there. The restaurant was closed for the biker party/gathering. No one said anything when we entered, and we were served. When we asked for the check it had been taken care of. I suspect it had something to do with the fact I was wearing a Harley-Davidson T. My brother was a biker but I never got the bug. Except for owning 20 or 30 H-D T's. It didn't matter. We were well received outsiders. Thank you.
